About me

I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who utilizes a holistic approach to treating patients. I recognize that people are more than their parts. Maximizing wellness is the goal when working with clients, and to this end, exploration into complex biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors is important to gain a full view of the client's needs. Clients often seek mental health treatment to alleviate distress. I seek to work with clients to uncover sources of distress and develop actionable means to empower clients to improve their lives.

My education background includes a BFA from the University of Miami in 2004, ASN in 2011 and BSN in 2018 from Miami Dade College, MSN from Nova Southeastern in 2021. In my clinical experience I’ve worked clients with severe and chronically ill mental illness, clients dealing with alcohol and substance use disorders, in crisis stabilization, in inpatient behavioral health, and in private outpatient practices. I also drawn upon my prior background as a swimming coach, a public-school educator, and a critical care nurse in motivating, coaching, and guiding individuals to reach their goals. Common issues I work with clients are but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, trauma, OCD, stress, grief/loss, and inattention.

I utilize individually tailored evidence-based medication management, and combined psychotherapy in my sessions. I emphasize empathy and exploration into complex factors affecting one's mental wellness. I see, understand, and treat clients where they are on the mental health continuum taking into account prevailing factors affecting each client.
